Driving Mrs. Daisy

A mixed company, a repertory group, recreated the Pulitzer Prize winning drama by Alfred Uhry. This bittersweet story of a rare friendship that develops between the elderly, ornery Jewish widow Miss Daisy and her overly polite black chauffeur Hoke reflects changes in the deep South from 1948 to 1972, addressing issues of prejudice, dependence and price. Jan Steinway and Leonard Stephenson stared.
